- Kenny Markford does not play alternative rock, indy rock, pop rock or heavy metal. He just rocks... it's that simple. Kenny makes his mark churning out memorable melodies over fat grooves and he turns up the heat with slammin' guitar riffs and ripping solos.
- Kenny's music is a fresh experience from a rock perspective. He pays homage to all things rock of the past 40 years but remains distinctly true to himself. His work is the sum of his musical and life experiences channeled through a musical voice that is his own. You will not hear comments such as "he sounds like so-and-so", because he simply does not. Kenny sounds like Kenny, which is one of the nicest things you can say about an artist or musician.
- A long time veteran of the Philadelphia music scene, Kenny has played the role of leader and sideman in many prominent Philly acts. In doing so he has played many of the nicest and crappiest stages the east coast has to offer, hanging with the nationals and puking with the locals. Hard dues paid, musical and personal character built. Whatever the circumstances, Kenny has always added something special to any act he has been a part of.
- Kenny released his first solo record, hammerhead, on AIR Records in 2000. It is a collection of hard-hitting guitar and melody rich rock tunes cut from the Kenny Markford mold. Kenny handles writing, vocals, guitars and bass on this one. It's a millennium rock adventure in the spirit of AOR rock of the 70's and 80's, a cohesive rock 'work'.
